Since our base in Lanzarote has some of the best sailing conditions in Europe and is easy to reach from most European airports, this season we also welcome complete teams with their own coach to use our equipment, facilities and enjoy the amazing winds!

Optimist – We have 20 brand new Winner 3D stars available for charters with a selection of Optimax MK3 flex, MK3 & MK4 spar sets.
Lasers – 16 Laser XDs available in good condition and ready for training
29er – We have 3 racing condition 29ers

Choice of conditions
The sheltered location of Playa Blanca Bay gives us the rare opportunity to choose the conditions we want to sail in. Inside the bay conditions are flat/choppy with more shifty conditions, outside the bay we get big swell/waves and stable oceanic winds!
Great weather: 100% sailing days
Over the past years we achieved a 100% sailing rate. This means that none of our training days were lost due to no wind or too much wind. Due to the location of the island and the shelter that the south side of Lanzarote offers us there is always a place to sail!
The temperature is between 18-25 degrees in winter and between 24-30 degrees in summer, which makes it a comfortable place to sail. No drysuits needed!

Accommodation
1. Incl. Accommodation – Sun Tropical Hotel Resort ***
Sailors can book their clinic including accommodation, which also includes meals. We can also offer accommodation to accompanying adults/siblings at a special rate of €45/night/person including breakfast/dinner.*
Accommodation will be provided in THB SUN TROPICAL HOTEL, which is located in a 15min. walking distance from the Marina. The hotel offers simple but large rooms with a small living/kitchen area in each room. We will provide a hotel pick-up/drop-off service to the Marina for sailors that have booked their clinic incl. accommodation with us.
*please note that due to a busy season on the island, we can only guarantee rooms for our clinic dates booked at least 2 months before the clinic starts. For different dates or bookings less than 2 months in advance, we ask you to e-mail us at Lanzarote@dinghycoach.com
2. Villa’s & Apartments through Dinghycoach
For families that prefer to be self-sufficient and maybe closer to the marina, we can offer several types of apartments and villas. Due to our good contacts on the island we know which villas are in good proximity and neighborhoods.

In case you prefer this type of accommodation please book your clinic Excl. Accommodation, as you will pay your accommodation separately.
3. Excl. Accommodation
The third and final option is to book your clinic excl. accommodation and find a hotel/apartment/villa on your own. Please be aware that prices can vary heavily depending on seasons.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to register online?
Yes, please register online to book your spot in one of our clinics. Your registration is confirmed as soon as payment or deposit is received. You can register on our clinics page here.
Can I register multiple sailors for the same clinic?
Yes, to register more than one sailor, please select quantity tickets on the clinic registration page. You will then get the option to register a second/third/fourth/etc sailor for the clinic.
Is a charter boat included in the clinic?
Yes, during all clinics in Lanzarote charterboats are included.
Is accommodation included during my clinics?
Most clinics are excl. accommodation. However, some clinics will have accommodation included in the clinic fee. In this case there will also be the option to book excl. accommodation. The accommodation information will always be stated on the clinic/event registration page so please read the page carefully.
Can my child/sailor come to Lanzarote alone?
Yes, we arrange airport pick-ups/drop-offs and have hotel pick-ups/drop-offs every day. We will always try to let sailors share rooms, so they are never really “alone”. We also have Ruby on shore 24/7 available for emergencies for the sailors traveling alone.
Note: if a sailor travels alone however we do expect them to be able to take care of them selfs in the hotel (have breakfast/diner/ go to bed on time) as we are not sleeping in the hotel our selfs. But don’t worry, as said before, we are always available for emergencies .
What should I bring for my charter boat
If you charter an Optimist, you should bring your:
- Sail
- Sail ties
- Mainsheet
- Wind indicator
If you charter a Laser, you should bring your:
- Sail + Batons
- Mainsheet
- Control lines + blocks, meaning: Vang system, Outhaul system, Cunningham system
- Traveler + traveler Block
- Tiller + Extention
Note: you should always bring running clothes/shoes and warm weather sailing clothes as well.
Can I come and train with my own coach/team?
Yes, it is possible to use our training facilities, coachboats, charterboats and organize a training with your own team and/or coach. Ask for availability by sending an e-mail to: lanzarote@dinghycoach.com
What level of sailors join the clinics in Lanzarote?
We try to offer our clinics to sailors from all levels but usually the higher level sailors come to Lanzarote to train. When you register, please fill in the “experience box” to show us what your level is, so we can make sure to fit every sailors’ needs.
Does Dinghycoach arrange Airport transfers?
No, we do not arrange airport transfers unless prior organized with Pim, Bocha or Ruby by e-mail. This applies to teams and sailors traveling alone (without accompanying parents)
At what time can we check into the hotel?
Checking in to the hotel is possible from 15:00 o’ clock. It is not possible to check in before 15:00. To make sure all the reservations are implemented correctly, Ruby will be at the hotel from 15:00-16:00.
Please inform her at least 1 week before arrival in case you arrive after 16:00 o’clock so you can arrange your check in with her at lanzarote@dinghycoach.com.
Who will be my coach during my clinic?
We believe that coaching is an essential part of athletic progress. Our team of professional coaches is eager to improve and test your sailing skills. Usually the coach will be indicated on every clinic/event registration page. In case this is not indicated you can expect the coach to be one of our DinghyCoach coaches, meet them here.
What if i want to train longer than the clinic?
Yes, it is possible to train extra days prior to – or after a clinic. However training prices may be different then normal clinic prices due to group size or coach availability. Please send an e-mail with your inquiry to: lanzarote@dinghycoach.com.
How can I pay for my clinic or regatta coaching?
All payments go online, for all the clinics in Lanzarote we ask a deposit when booking the clinic. Depending on your clinic package and if you need extra coaching, accommodation, charter, etc. we will send you a final invoice, prior to the clinic. Please note that your clinic participation is only possible when full payment is received.
Does Dinghycoach offer Private trainings?
Yes, our coaches are also available to give a private training/coaching session in Lanzarote. Costs and availability depend on the coach and period. To make an inquiry, please e-mail to: lanzarote@dinghycoach.com
